Stewards of the mysteries of God

Many Prophets didn't even know what they were prophesying about; God gave them a message to prophesy, and they just prophesied without even knowing what it meant. Some messages were given for a future generation, and those messages could not be understood at all by that generation! Those prophesies did not make any sense to them sometimes and they were just for the record. Those messages could only be interpreted in the right age, at the right time and by the right people.

Paul rightly put it when he described himself as ".. stewards of the mysteries of God.." 1 Cor. 4:1 KJV. He knew that what he preached was not agreeable by everyone but only a selected few.

The Spiritually blind need Jesus Christ to open eyes!
This was the condition of many ancient texts. Everything was a complete mystery! Men of the New Testament times also had difficulty understanding God's messages. The Gospel was concealed from the ungodly people, and it was open to understand only to those who sincerely sought God. I have personally seen many Christians not able to believe in the existence of God, some boldly tell out but many just don't want it to be known for the sake of society. But I can tell you it is a real difficulty knowing God if you are outside of the faith realm.

Isaiah wrote about this mystery:
Since ancient times no one has heard,
    no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
    who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
- Isaiah 64:4 NIV
God's divine plans were concealed to the public eyes, they were not for everyone around to know. They were for a special people, special enough to give thought to it, put time, energy and effort to dig into the realities of God. God's divine message will be a complete nonsense to all those who don't want him.

Stewards of the Mystery

Apostle Paul had pulled in Isaiah's script about the Gospel being a mystery, as he wrote:
“What no eye has seen,
    what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”
    the things God has prepared for those who love him.  1 Cor. 2:9;
Paul says, God's message has been hidden in plain sight. All necessary evidences are right there before their very eyes but they just can't see it! This message is not hidden to those who believe God, and seek Him earnestly.
...these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. - 1 Cor.2:10
This ancient mystery has been openly revealed by the Holy Spirit! This is no more a mystery, it is an understandable fact! Holy Spirit is the person who opens our minds to the greater truths of this amazing discovery of heavenly things.
Stewards of the mysteries of God

And we who take this wonderful life-giving, life-transforming message to the world, we are the carriers of this great mystery. The mystery which was concealed from the people of the ancient past! That great mystery that everyone wanted to know, but never found, all wanted to see but never saw.
‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
For the hearts of this people have grown dull.

Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.’ - Mat.13:15 NKJV, Isa.6:9,10

This is the amazing message that came from heaven, in which you and I play a direct role in establishing and expanding the Kingdom of God on Earth. It is an important role heaven has entrusted us with.

We are the Stewards of the Mysteries of God!
