The Mystery of the Christian Gospel

Yes, the Christian message throughout all ages have always remained a mystery, unable to be understood by simple minds, unable to reason with logic, and totally crazy in all it's meaning.
Yet this peculiar message is the very message from God to mankind, it is the way out of all the pains we go through, it is the end of all suffering, it has the power even to master death, it is the only way of our Salvation!

The Message was purposely hidden from the ungodly 

See what Jesus says about this:

The disciples came up and asked, “Why do you tell stories (speak in parables)?”
He replied, “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them. Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and understandings flow freely. But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears. That’s why I tell stories: to create readiness, to nudge the people toward receptive insight. In their present state they can stare till doomsday and not see it, listen till they’re blue in the face and not get it. - Matthew 13:10-15 MSG

Though the secrets of the Kingdom of God has been hidden from the ungodly people, it was to make known to them. Since they were too far away from understanding it relying heavily with their intellect, Jesus spoke to them in Parables to bridge the gap of understanding. Jesus prepares their minds and hearts with Parables first so that later when they hear it they will agree to the message of the Gospel.

Peter had difficulty understanding

When Jesus explained to his disciples that he must suffer and be killed (Mat. 16:21-23), Peter rebuked him, "Never, Lord! This shall never be!" Jesus was angry at him and said, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God but mere men."

Difficulty understanding God's message - Spiritual Blindness

Jesus' reaction could shock you even today. It shocked me many times! Why should he be so hard on Peter? after all Peter was only being nice to Jesus. This is the condition of our human-standard of understanding Godly things. Many times we fail to operate in Faith based on God's promises, which gives us a negative effect in our lives. Later we may wonder what God was doing all along when we suffered! When all the time it was our fault making decisions based on our sense knowledge according to our limited understanding of things.

Nicodemus had difficulty too

A member of the Jewish council and a Pharisee by name Nicodemus knew Jesus was not an ordinary preacher but a man from God, and he met Jesus to ask if there's anything more he should do to enter Eternal life   since Pharisees always had the idea that they were always the perfect religious people ready for heaven. But Jesus gave an answer that shocked Nico!

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” - John 3:3,4

This answer threw Nico in confusion, he might have thought, "What? I am a Pharisee holding the Law to the smallest detail and Jesus tells me that I have to do something more to enter Heaven, that too be born again?

This is the situation of most of the Christians who hold a membership in a Church, and who go to Church regularly, know a few stories from the bible, but not got the essence of God's message. They are in the idea that God will see their Church record and membership details to permit them into heaven. The factors that qualify you to enter Heaven is quite different! You must be born again!!! By water and of the Spirit! 

“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? - John 3: 9,10

Jesus tried to put things plainly, in a manner that we can understand to the nearest possible point. But Nicodemus just couldn't take in what Jesus just said. Jesus goes on to say Nico not even grasped one truth of the Kingdom of Heaven how can he be told more deeper things such as the coming crucifixion and that the Son of Man had to die for the sins of the world?

Jesus tells Nicodemus about being born again

If I tell you things that are plain as the hand before your face and you don’t believe me, what use is there in telling you of things you can’t see, the things of God? - v12 MSG

This is the condition of most of us as blinded Christians not able to open our eyes to Spiritual truths.

Prayer: Dear Father, I now realize that I am blinded to certain spiritual truths. Please work in my heart and mind so that I will comprehend the unknown truths about You and Your heavenly Kingdom. Help me to understand them deeply and perfectly through the Holy Spirit, so that I will be able to live in your everlasting light. And will be a light to all those around me. Amen.
